About Us

Buttons Attic is a brand that encompasses happiness, joy and positivity.

Our aim is to make people feel as happy wearing our designs as we do making them and we value the little people who wear our clothing just as much as the customers who buy for them.
We celebrate uniqueness and individuality through the colours and patterns in our prints, because we believe it’s important to celebrate the little things that make us all different… and it’s fun to stand out from the crowd!
We design and make all our products by hand, right here in Sheffield, UK, to the highest possible standard, making sure each style is super comfy and hard wearing – high quality, sustainable hand made clothing made for playing out in!
Founded by me, Rebecca, in April 2017 after a life changing trip to East Africa volunteering with a women’s empowerment group in Tanzania through the African Impact Foundation, I fell in love with the African culture, the people and their fabrics and I came home with ideas (and a lot of fabric!!) to start making clothing using African Wax Print fabric.

About Buttons Attic

I have loved designing and making clothes for as long as I can remember. My Grandma and Mum always sewed and made their own clothes and they inspired me to pursue a career in Fashion. I graduated with a first class honours degree in Fashion Design, but after several years working in the fashion industry for top High Street brands, I fell out of love with fast fashion and left to become a Fashion & Textiles Secondary school teacher and freelancer in the Bridal industry. After making lots of wedding dresses including my own, I decided to explore making bespoke children's clothing using the African Wax fabric as alternative ‘flower girl’ wedding outfits after planning our own festival wedding in the Peak District in the summer of 2017.
Friends and family loved the unique designs and were delighted to have special items that nobody else owned so I decided to take the plunge and extend my collection of items. The first 'showing' of my range was at a very popular street market on Sharrow Vale Road, Sheffield in April 2019. I loved the buzz of the market and the reaction my clothing received – so I decided to make a go of it and set up the business!
